Cargo space is important and finding the right Subaru with the cargo space that you need shouldn't be too difficult. Whether you're running errands around the Montclair, Clifton and Bloomfield area, or you're planning a family vacation, you'll want to make sure that you have enough cargo space to do so. To help you find the right amount of vehicle cargo space, we're going to show you three Subaru models: the Subaru Crosstrek, the Subaru Forester and the Subaru Outback.

Cargo Space in the Subaru Crosstrek

The Subaru Crosstrek is one of Subaru's many reliable and efficient midsize SUVs. The Subaru Crosstrek is the perfect blend of SUV and hatchback, with its spacious interior and sedan-like maneuverability. In terms of Subaru vehicles with great cargo space, this vehicle is at the bottom of the list in terms of the amount of volume, but don't let that sway you; it still offers a lot.

This vehicle features an interior volume of 119.8 cubic feet, 97.5 cubic feet of which are for passengers. In terms of cargo, this midsize SUV offers 22.3 cubic feet with all the seats in place. If you fold up the second row, the vehicle offers a maximum of 51.9 cubic feet for your cargo.

Subaru Forester Cargo Space

The Subaru Forester is a larger outing than the Subaru Crosstrek. This midsize SUV is roughly three and a half inches taller than the Subaru Crosstrek. The roof rails are convenient if you wish to bring more cargo on your vacation or if you're looking to bring your bikes.

The Subaru Forester offers roughly a third more cargo space with 34.4 cubic feet of cargo space in its 147.5 cubic feet of total interior volume. However, when you fold the rear seats down, your cargo space jumps up to 74.7 cubic feet, which is more than 20 cubic feet more than the maximum cargo space in the Subaru Crosstrek.

Subaru Outback Cargo Space

The Subaru Outback is the most popular midsize SUV in the Subaru lineup. This vehicle isn't as tall as the Subaru Forester, but it is longer at 15.9 feet, which gives it a sleek look. It's also two inches wider than the Subaru Forester. This vehicle offers a low center of gravity, given its shape, and the Subaru BOXER® engine, which is featured in all Subaru models.

In terms of space, the Subaru Outback offers an interior volume of 143.6 cubic feet, which is less than the Subaru Forester. Even though the Subaru Outback doesn't offer as much interior volume, it does offer more cargo space when the seats are in place with 35.5 cubic feet. However, when the seats are folded down, the Subaru Outback cargo space maxes out at 73.3, which is more than a cubic foot less than the cargo space in the Subaru Forester.
