Lincoln Park Music Festival: Event Details

The 11th Annual Lincoln Park Music Festival will kick off on Friday, July 29 and end on Sunday, July 31. Each day of the festival begins at 12 pm and goes until 8 pm. The festival will be held in Lincoln Park, located at 1035-1071 Broad Street in Newark.

This all-weekend music fest will be held by the Lincoln Park Coast Cultural District (LPCCD), which will use the proceeds for transforming the four-block site of Lincoln Park into an arts and cultural district. They plan on including sustainable mixed-income housing units and historic restoration projects. The goal is to create green jobs while promoting urban agriculture in a sustainable community.

Attracting over 50,000 people since 2006, the LPCCD lives out its mission to plan, design, and build an atmosphere of comprehensive arts and culture throughout the Lincoln Park and Coast area of Newark, NJ.

What to Expect at the 11th Annual Lincoln Park Music Festival

This music festival will feature a variety of musical performances in styles such as jazz, gospel, house, and hip-hop. This festival draws in roughly 50,000 people each year with the common goal of having fun, listening to great music, and supporting a great cause while celebrating culture. This event will also feature a wide variety of local food and craft vendors who will be open for business throughout the festival area.

Children can enjoy the variety of activities offered in the kid zone. They can play games, skateboard, or learn basketball and golf skills in the clinics.

This festival also features a healthy lifestyle pavilion. Attendees can get free health screenings, massages, and yoga lessons. There will also be local and organic produce from the Lincoln Park Community Farm.

Residents and festival participants can have fun and learn a lot in the green/sustainable marketplace. Attendees can learn about the green movement and the positive impact it has on health, the community, and the economy. This festival has had an economic impact of over $5 million annually, and the LPCCD hopes to continue their work in strengthening the community and promoting culture and healthy living.

Over the years, this festival has had many sponsors, including the Newark Arts Council, United Health Car/Ameri Choice, Sony/Verity Records, and the City of Newark.
