It lays flat under the hood and features horizontally opposed valves that feed power into the Symmetrical All-Wheel drive system, which gives the Subaru Impreza superior handling. 

The 2017 Subaru Impreza still features the same engine with a few updates to give it a little boost in power. The 2016 Subaru Impreza was able to reach 148 horsepower but the 2017 Subaru Impreza can get up to 152 horsepower. Both vehicles feature a continuously variable transmission but with the 2017 update, the new CVT features a paddle-shifted 7-speed sport mode transmission.

The 2016 Subaru Impreza featured the SUBARU STARLINK™ 6.2-inch multimedia screen. The 2017 update will feature the same infotainment system, only bigger, with eight inches of touch screen possibilities. This system will also integrate with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™. The new Impreza will also feature an available premium audio system with eight Harmon Kardon speakers.
